Favorite Disney Thing #54 - Brickley the Sea Serpent - The LEGO Imagination Center, better known as The LEGO Store, opened in October 1997 in the Marketplace section of Downtown Disney (now called Disney Springs). There are many larger-than-life LEGO sculptures scattered around and near the store. Since it opened, many sculptures have been added over the years like, Prince Phillip battling Maleficent the dragon, Snow White giving Dopey a kiss on the head, and the scene from Toy Story when Buzz and Woody fly through the air on a rocket. The details in the sculptures are always so impressive. I especially love the LEGO family of Disney tourists out walking with their three dogs; however, my favorite LEGO sculpture happens to live in the lagoon just across from the store. His name is affectionately known as "Brickley the sea serpent". He is 30 feet tall and was built using over 170,000 LEGO bricks. He has been living in that lagoon since the store opened more than 20 years ago. I just love seeing his happy little face every time I visit!
