Favorite Disney Thing #67 - Dressing Up for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party - As our Disney World vacation draws closer and closer, I can't help but think of all of My Favorite 'Halloween' Disney Things! Dressing up for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween party is so much fun and I can't wait to do it again this October - This year we have decided to dress up as pirates!

In 2011, we dressed up as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We wanted something that would be easy to make, but also as comfortable as possible. I know many people really go all out for their costumes, but sometimes that means itchy or hot or uncomfortable, not to mention pricey. Our costumes were pretty simple to throw together and were very economical. My daughter already had a Snow White dress, so that part was taken care of. She wore a long sleeve white cotton t-shirt underneath so that she wouldn't feel 'itchy' and it kept her warm in the cool night air. She also wore some white tights, black ballet-style shoes and a dab of red lipstick to complete her look. As for the rest of us, we bought over-sized cotton t-shirts of various colors and large black belts to wear over them to represent the dwarfs tunics. We bought extra t-shirts to make the hats by cutting the material into large triangle-like shapes. We then used fabric glue to create a sort of cone shaped fabric hat. For that extra touch, we each had the name of a dwarf screen-printed onto the back of our shirts. Our pants and shoes were simply jeans and athletic shoes, since we knew we would be doing a lot of walking! If you plan on going to one of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween parties this year, be sure to dress-up; you won't regret it!
